MFA adds a layer of protection to your online account by letting you know it's really us and letting us know it's really you.
Letting you know it's really us – Personalized MFA Image and Image Name
- You pick one of thousands of MFA images and then give the image a name to help identify it to you.
- Every time you attempt to log in to your online account, your MFA image and image name will appear on the password screen.
- Seeing your MFA image and image name will let you know that you are accessing the correct website.
- If the correct MFA image and image name do not appear on the password screen, do not enter your password. Exit the site and attempt access at a later time.
Letting us know it's really you – Security Questions and Answers
- You choose several security questions from a list and assign answers that only you know.
- The system will learn the characteristics of the computer, Internet Service Provider (ISP) and programs typically used to log in to your online account. When the typical characteristics are displayed, your MFA image and image name will appear on the password screen.
- When you attempt access from a different computer or browser, or should someone else attempt access to your account, the system will ask security questions in an attempt to verify visitor identity.
Remember: Once you have chosen your MFA image and image name, never enter sensitive information such as your password without first verifying the correct MFA image and image name are displayed.

Your answers should be easily remembered, yet not readily known by others. Try to avoid using answers that could change over time. Type your answers carefully as you will need to supply exactly the same answer if you are ever prompted with one of your security questions.
