Mutual Funds

A mutual fund is an investment company which pools money from many investors and invests these funds in a diversified portfolio of securities. This enables individuals to invest in a diversified mix of assets without being burdened by the time-consuming responsibilities associated with analyzing and choosing their own stocks. A mutual fund operates according to stated policies and objectives set forth in the fund's prospectus. These objectives, such as income and growth, correspond in varying degrees to investors' objectives and risk tolerances. Therefore, it is important for investors to read the prospectus and learn more about a particular fund before investing in it.*
