Jackson County Bank ("JCBank", "we", "us", or "our") recognizes and respects the privacy expectations of our consumer customers (“customer”, “you”, “your”) and in that spirit we provide the following principles of consumer customer privacy.

JCBank defines our customer as:

  • A customer who has a continuing relationship with us, such as
    • Deposit account
    • Loan account
    • Safe deposit box
    • Retail installment contract we hold and service
    • Self-directed Individual Retirement Account where JCBank acts as custodian or trustee
  • A former customer


  • Affiliate – company we own or control, a company that owns or controls us, or a company that is owned or controlled by the same company that owns or controls us. Ownership does not mean complete ownership, but means owning enough to have control.
  • Nonaffiliated Third Party – company that is not an affiliate of ours.

Use, Collection and Retention of Customer Information

We support the principle that financial institutions should collect, retain and use information about individual customers only where it is necessary (and allowed by law) in administering that person's business. We collect nonpublic personal information about customers from the following sources:

  • Customer transactions
  • Consumer reporting agencies
  • Our Customer Identification Program

JCBank does NOT disclose any nonpublic personal information about our customers to anyone, except as permitted by law. It is JCBank's policy not to reveal specific information about customer accounts or other personally identifiable data to unaffiliated third parties for their independent use, except for the exchange of information with reputable information reporting agencies to maximize the accuracy and security of such information or in the performance of bona fide corporate due diligence or business matter; unless 1) the information is provided to help complete a customer initiated transaction; 2) the customer requests or permits it; 3) the disclosure is required by or allowed by law (e.g., subpoena, investigation of fraudulent activity, request by regulator, etc.); or 4) the customer has been informed about the possibility of disclosure for marketing or similar purposes through a prior communication and given the opportunity to decline (i.e., "opt out").

Maintaining Customer Privacy in Business Relationships with Third Parties

In the limited circumstances, as described above, that we provide personally identifiable customer information to a third party, we expect that the third party will adhere to similar privacy principles that provide for keeping such information confidential.

Site Usage

When you visit our website, we may collect and store information about your visit on an anonymous, aggregate basis. This information may include the time and length of your visit, the pages you look at on our website, and the domain from which you access the Internet (for example,, if you are connecting from an America Online account). We use the information we collect to measure the number of visitors to the different sections of our website, and to help us make our website more useful to visitors.

We collect the email addresses of our online banking, bill pay service, and e-statements customers in order to correspond with these customers about enhancements to the service or interruptions in service due to technological upgrades.

JCBank offers various calculators to assist you in making financial decisions and choosing products and services that are right for you. When you are using these calculators, we do not collect, capture or retain your personal information.

Should you send us personally identifying information (name, address, telephone number, email address) we may use the information from you to respond to your inquiries or for other internal business purposes, but we will not sell or rent that information to third parties.

We are not responsible for the information collection practices of the non-JCBank links you access from our website. We cannot guarantee how these third parties use cookies or whether they place on your computer cookies that may identify you personally. These are small text files that a website can store on the visitor's web browser. A cookie may be used to track a visitor's path of navigation through the site for configuring a session which is tailored to that visitor. Online Banking, Business Online Banking, Remote Deposit, Bill Pay Service, eStatements and TrustWeb require cookies be enabled in order to use these services. The remainder of JCBank’s Online Services do not utilize cookies.

Children's Online Privacy

JCBank does not intentionally collect information of any kind from visitors under the age of 13. Visitors are afforded the option to communicate with JCBank via a variety of contact forms as well as secure forms related to Electronic Banking and via online surveys. Any information collected on the Electronic Banking related forms is solely for verification purposes. If information is received from an individual who is found to be under the age of 13, the information will be used to answer the specific inquiry, seek parental consent, and/or provide parental notice. Nonpublic personal information is NOT disclosed to third parties except as permitted by law. JCBank is not responsible for data collection practices of any third party website to which links.
