Assisting our customers in protecting their hard earned money is always top of mind. We provide fraud detection service that will monitor your ATM and debit card transactions for potential fraudulent activity.

If fraudulent card use is suspected, we will call to validate the legitimacy of your transactions. Your participation in responding to our call is critical to prevent potential risk and avoid restrictions we may place on the use of your card. It will also reduce the chance of you being inconvenienced by such restrictions in the event the transactions are indeed legitimate. As a reminder, we will never ask for your PIN or account number.

  • Our automated call will ask you to verify recent transaction activity on your card

Is Your Account Protected Against ATM and Debit Card Overdrafts?

If you make an ATM or everyday debit card transaction which overdraws your account, overdraft service may enable us to honor your purchase and charge you a fee, while sparing you the inconvenience of having the transaction denied.

To receive protection against debit card and ATM overdrafts, you must tell JCB you wish to receive this coverage.

Protect Your Account From Accidental Overdrafts
No one plans to overdraw an account, but it’s good to have options. You are only charged a fee for this valued service if you use it and you can opt out at any time. Contact us by mail, in person or phone at (800) 204-6477 to make your choice.

JCB Debit Card
JCB’s Overdraft Service Program may apply to checks and ACH transactions. If elected, and affirmatively agreed upon, the service may also apply to ATM and Debit Card transactions. Overdrafts are paid at the discretion of JCB as long as your account remains in good standing. Not all transactions will be authorized or guaranteed. A $35 fee is assessed for each overdraft. Overdrawn accounts must be returned to a positive balance within 30 days. If your account remains overdrawn, an additional continuous overdraft fee of $30 will be charged for every 10th business day you are overdrawn.

What happens when my account is overdrawn?

If you have an overdraft, JCB may cover your transaction but charge you a fee for this service. (See the terms and agreements of your account for details.) We need your permission to offer this service on your ATM/debit card.

If I have insufficient funds in my account, will my card be declined?

If you do not give permission for overdraft service to apply to ATM and everyday debit card transactions, your transaction will be declined. However, if you allow overdraft service for ATM and everyday debit card transactions, we will at our discretion cover your account. A fee for this service will be charged only when it is used.

If I do nothing, what will happen if my account is overdrawn?

If you do not give your permission to allow overdraft service for ATM and everyday debit card transactions and you attempt a transaction that overdraws your account your transaction will be declined.

Do I already have overdraft service?

Overdraft service, provided for checks and electronic payments, may be included in your account. However, it will not cover overdrafts on ATM and everyday debit card transactions unless you give us your permission.

I never overdraw my account. Why would I want something that charges me a fee?

We understand that life can sometimes throw you a curve ball and while we do not encourage overdrafts on accounts, we do realize that overdrafts may occur on occasion due to an oversight or as the result of a miscalculation. That’s why we only charge a fee if you use it.

If I decide to opt-in now, can I change my mind later?

Yes, you can change your election at any time.

Does this apply to check overdrafts and automatic bill payments?

No, it does not apply to these transactions. JCB will provide overdraft service for checks and automatic bill payments and charge standard applicable fees.

Does this apply to business or other non-personal accounts?

No, it does not apply to account types other than personal.
